Tunnel Singing

Tunnel Singing is one of i think BYU's greatest secret. At 10:00 every Sunday night, students, friends and anyone who wants to can come and sing a selected few LDS hymns of worship. It occurs at the Marriott Center tunnel close to the Bell Tower on campus.

I have been attending it for just over a year. It was introduced to me by one of my friends. They wanted me just to come and sing, but i got so much more out of it. Each time i go there i learn a little more about what the Lord wants me to do and what he wants me to be. There is a spirit there unlike anywhere else i felt where anyone, member, non member, investigator, anyone who wants to come is welcome to be there.

At about half way through they do what is called "Its that time again!" and it is the time where they honor Missionary Work. At that point anyone who has received a mission call can stand up and tell everyone where they are going. To learn more about the actual mission calls and more about the gospel click here mormon.org

I think that is absolutely amazing that so many youth and young adults can come together in the same faith, voluntarily, that late at night (mainly because of school work and the next days schedule) and basically proclaim their faith with no one to force them to do it.

Also it is a good place to meet people and to meet friends. There are some people who i met there about 6 months ago that i would not have met anywhere else, and they would not have met me. It is amazing to think about how many peoples lives can be touched by a small and simple gesture. Absolutely amazing.

It is free of charge to attend, and if gone with the right motivation it will change your life.

SUMMARY

I love to attend Tunnel Singing. I feel it is a sanitary from the cares of the world. I love the people there, and i love to sing the hymns. I will be attending for a very long time to come.
